Leonard Maassen will present a special live performance at Space Talk London on 3rd March 2026.
Leonard Maassen (b. 1998, Paris) is a German artist exploring subtle entanglements of perception, space, and techno-ecological systems. Working with spatial audio, field recordings, and live electronics, his performances unfold as intimate, carefully sculpted listening environments. His practice draws on meditation traditions and a sensitivity to more-than-human presence, shaping sound as a medium for heightened attention and connection.
Maassen has presented work at Barbican Centre, Modern Art Oxford, LSE and across major European cities. Recent projects include a site-specific work at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral and compositions for an installation by photographer Tomas van Houtryve.
For this live performance, Maassen presents a programme of spacious synthesis and poetic fragments, composed for deep listening and slow immersion. His performances unfold between concert, installation, and spoken reflection: textured synthesis, environmental sound, and poetic fragments held in an intimate listening bar setting.
Beyond the live performance, this evening invites conversation until the early hours. Artists, writers, curators, listeners are encouraged to stay, meet, and exchange ideas – an opportunity to step outside the algorithm and into the room together.
